Welcome to the BloonsGuide.com walkthrough for Bloons TD 6's brand new Patch 40 Quest / Experiment, "Fast Upgrades."

In this short guide, you'll learn how to beat Fast Upgrades with no monkey knowledge required, and you'll better understand why this strategy works.

Let's get started.

How Does the Fast Upgrades Quest Work?

The gimmick of Fast Upgrades is this:

Each round, you receive a free skill upgrade for all your Towers in a path of your choosing. The details of which path the game chooses to upgrade at the end of each around aren't totally clear at the moment, and the choices the game makes are sometimes confusing.

The official instructions mention this:

"At the end of each round, all towers are upgraded once for free! The middle path will be chosen for base towers, or the next upgrade in the path with the highest upgrade."

That makes sense, but things get a bit tricky you've upgraded two paths. But it doesn't matter too much.

Your best bet to secure an auto-upgrade path of your choosing is to upgrade a single path at least once before a round starts or ends (ideally before it starts). If you aren't able to upgrade your preferred path by the time a single round ends, upgrade your preferred path as many times as you can during the next round.

How to Beat Fast Upgrades with No Monkey Knowledge

Round 1

To start, place a Druid in the top right-hand corner of the map and upgrade it to 0 / 1 / 0.

Round 2

Do nothing during Round 2. You're going to lose some lives, but it doesn't matter.

At the end of Round 2, you should have a 0 / 3 / 0 Druid. Upgrade it to 1 / 3 / 0 before the start of Round 3 to gain the Hard Thorns effect. This will allow your Druid of the Jungle vines to pop Lead Bloons coming soon.

Round 3

Druid of the Jungle plus Hard Thorns should be more than enough to solo Round 3 - but we need to place a tower before Round 3 ends.

Before the end of Round 3, place a Monkey Ace below and to the left of the Druid over the wall.

BTD6 Fast Upgrades Quest Solution Part 2

At the end of Round 3, your Monkey Ace will be automatically upgraded to 0 / 1 / 0 and your Druid to 1 / 4 / 0. But this isn't the path we want to max for the Monkey Ace, so we'll be spamming upgrades during Round 4 to ensure we get our desired auto-upgrade.

Round 4

Once Round 4 starts, immediately begin spamming upgrades in the top path of your Monkey Ace, with a goal of hitting a maxed Ace in the top path, or Sky Shredder.

This round will give you a ton of gold. It should be more than enough for you to upgrade the Monkey Ace to 4 / 1 / 0 before Round 4 ends, ensuring we get an auto-upgrade to Sky Shredder at the end of Round 4.

Now we have a Sky Shredder!

But before Round 5 starts, we need to upgrade the Monkey Ace to 5 / 2 / 0, or Spy Plane in the middle path. This will give us the Camo Detection we need to enable the Sky Shredder to hit DDTs.

But we're not done!

We're also going to place a Spike Factory towards the end of the map and upgrade it to 1 / 2 / 0.

BTD6 Fast Upgrades Quest Solution Part 3

This will work us towards MOAB SHREDR and Spike Storm, both of which will be helpful in taking down DDTs and the BAD on Round 6. We also now have a max-level Druid to help us shred any regular Bloons!

Round 5

As soon as Round 5 starts, spam upgrades into your Spike Factory's middle path to purchase MOAB SHREDR as soon as possible. You should get enough gold for this nearly instantly after the round starts.

Round 5 will end relatively quickly, leaving us with a 1 / 4 / 0 Spike Factory. Go ahead and upgrade your Spike Factory to 2 / 4 / 0 as well before Round 6.

Round 6

There isn't much to do on Round 6 except spam your Spike Storm ability!

As soon as your Spike Storm ability comes off cooldown, use it. This should allow you to shred the wave of DDTs that appear.

Next comes the BAD.

Your Shy Shredder should do massive damage to the BAD MOAB alone, but we're going to use Spike Storm again once it's off cooldown to finish it off.

The combination of Sky Shredder, max-level Druid, and SHREDR Spike Storm spikes should be more than enough to kill the resulting ZOMG and regular MOABs.

And that's it!
